The effects of CBD on the individual depends on a host of factors: the dosage, absorption, the quality, and if the oil is an isolate, containing only the CBD molecule, or a full-spectrum product.

CBD can engender feelings of calm by inhibiting anandamide absorption. Anandamide is an endocannabinoid that helps to regulate homeostasis, the body’s natural state of equilibrium. It promotes feelings of well-being and helps to keep pain and emotional stress in check.

There are also many anecdotal reports that CBD promotes feelings of drowsiness, helping those with insomnia to fall asleep and stay asleep. CBD also possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is an anxiolytic, which may also provide sleep aid by easing pain and anxiety.

CBD contrasts with THC, the cannabinoid that possesses intoxicating properties. THC produces a high because it binds directly to the body’s CB1 receptors, which mediate the psychoactive effects of cannabinoids.

CBD can’t get you high because it doesn’t directly link to any of the body’s cannabinoid receptors. Instead, it interacts with the body’s own endocannabinoids in complex ways.

CBD has been shown to help counteract the effects of THC by modulating cannabinoid activity in the brain. In this way, CBD can tone down the paranoia that THC sometimes provokes.

Full spectrum CBD oils allow the user to enjoy the synergistic effects of CBD and THC combined without the psychoactive effects. CBD has anti-inflammatory properties which may alleviate conditions such as colitis and other autoimmune disorders, arthritis, neuroinflammation, and muscle or joint pain.

There is a considerable body of evidence demonstrating the efficacy of CBD in reducing seizures. CBD has been proven to reduce the frequency of both focal and generalized seizures in severe conditions such as Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut syndromes.

Yes …actually , ( for THC metabolites)- was drug tested after using 2 CBD products. One of the products was full spectrum oil THC 0 .01 % , another was full spectrum THC 0.28 % vape pen . The oil, extremely expensive ( 150$ a bottle ,( CBD 1500mg per bottle .01% THC.) That specific product did NOT cause the + THC on the rapid test . The latter, vape oil concentrate , was at a sl. higher concentration of (THC=< .28% & CBD 500mg. Cost 30$ ) I used the vape starting 7pm on a Tuesday - thru Friday , & that same Friday 230pm, ( 3 days later ) epiclly failed a rapid drug test that read + THC metabolites.. The vape was purchased from a manufacturer in a legal local store (non-dispensary) that makes it on site & uses plants grown legally in the USA. It actually worked for anxiety and helped me sleep…I was attempting to try a more natural homeopathic solution for anxiety. I think I exceeded the recommended dosage or serving because is harder to measure mg./ each puff & how many puffs per cartridge. The test was definitely + for THC metabolites . I get tested randomly for my work as a nurse and the + test result could cause me (potentially) to lose my job, and or lose my ability to practice as a nurse. In my practicing state (CT) , marijuana is NOT legal( yet) , but the publicly accessible stores do sell CBD products legally, as long as the THC level doesn't exceed 0.3% . The legal amount per product is. Less than or = 3% THC , seems small….but still WILL cause a rapid drug test to fail (def. not that test involving mass spectrometry or gas chromatography). I think the more advanced tests sent out to labs for analysis( using the mass spec/ gas chrom) method, would definitely also potentially pick up on the THC metabolites depending on many variants: including , amount consumed / how long consumed for/ a person's weight/ metabolism etc, all varying factors..Every labs cut off level is not the same, so if you're subject to a more advanced lab test - I'd say dont risk it!! IF your unsure , have a safety sensitive profession (nurse, doc, police )- where u can be randomly tested & possibility of being disciplined for ANY ? + test results for substances with the potential for abuse, take NO risk on full spectrum products. All of The CBD products are NOT federally regulated/ tested, dont abide by strict guidelines, standards, or procedures. I personally, will now treat any other CBD products, whether they are full spectrum or isolate , as ALL having the potential to produce a failed test result (now) just to be safe. LUCKILY I tested myself with the rapid test method , before submitting the lab test for work purposes . I needed to know what would happen if anything, before getting stuck in a bad situation where I give a random specimen at a lab ( for work) , being surprised by a +++THC result, then consequently, having to explain to the Board of Nursing- why exactly I failed !!! Nurses are held to the highest standard and there is absolutely NO room for failure- duties to protect the public/ self- are not anything that has any margin for even slight failure.

CBD oil is a composite extracted from the hemp plant. Marijuana has several constituents inside of it. And in those constituents, CBD is one, and of course, there is the other one the THC can be very dangerous. It can be psycho addictive, and it can create schizoaffective disorders and schizophrenia. Whereas the CBD constituent is very beneficial for the body, and it has a lot of great benefits for health. It is available in many different forms in the market. In CBD oil, a mixture is dissolved into a carrier oil. CBD oil is a popular choice because it absorbs quickly and is easy to use and is compatible with most users needs.

Stress and anxiety are part of life, but when it is overbearing, we need proper medication for a healthy life. I have researched a lot about how to naturally reduce and get rid of anxiety. One of them is CBD, and it’s something that I’ve been using for quite some time. I’ve been pretty stressed out over the past few years. At this point now, I think I’ve always suffered from some anxiety. My anxiety was so bad that I was not sleeping well, and there were so many factors going on that just made me anxious. I needed to do something about it soon as making all these other changes as well, and that’s also when I started using CBD oil. I made a lot of changes progressively overtime that includes a lot of things like running exercising etc.

I want people to know that CBD is not like Xanax or something else, from what I understand medications for anxiety make your responses dull. CBD is beneficial for anxiety; your mind and responses are sharp while using it.

So basically what CBD or hemp oil does is that it works on decreasing your sympathetic response. We have these two responses in our body it is either parasympathetic which is at rest and restore mode and sympathetic that’s like fighter flight mode. In the beginning, I was using a lot more, but I was also working on a lot of other factors like exercising and changing my diet. All these things helped altogether to heal my anxiety. There isn’t just one thing, but you need all of these factors that contribute to the process, working on myself, and making a lot of changes. My anxiety got a lot lower now, and I’m only using this at night, so my sympathetic state is a lot smaller now from all these changes.

According to the Journal of Experimental Medicine, CBD may prove beneficial in treating medical conditions like pain. This study goes on to say that CBD, a compound of the marijuana plant can successfully suppress chronic inflammation and neuropathic pain.

But it has to be kept in mind that the researchers treated rodents with CBD in this case. Not only this but there is other research too that proves the efficiency of CBD. According to one such study, it was concluded that CBD may reduce anxiety, cognitive impairment, and reduce discomfort in speech. However, there are some CBD and THC synthesized medicines approved by the FDA for treating symptoms of cancer and epilepsy.

Cancer patients are administered with dronabinol and nabilone (THC synthesized medicines) and a unique type of epilepsy (Dravet’s Syndrome) is treated with the help of CBD rich strains. So, in all CBD does have some impact on human health and it can prove extremely beneficial in the long run. But until further deep analysis and more research on the subject of CBD, it wouldn’t be fair to say that it can treat every medical condition. In fact, if you are looking forward to treating your condition with medical marijuana and CBD oil make sure you keep your doctor in the loop and check with the state qualifying conditions for marijuana use.

CBD effects everyone a little bit differently. As others have mentioned, it depends on a few factors, including the dosage, quality, and type of CBD. Absorption also plays a role. This can be affected by your weight and metabolism and how you’re taking the CBD (by ingestion, topical application, etc.) Full-spectrum and broad-spectrum products, which include CBD as well as other naturally-available cannabinoids and terpenes, tend to be more effective than CBD isolates, which contain CBD alone, because of a phenomenon known as the “entourage effect.” Basically, CBD works better with its support network.

CBD can have a broad range of benefits. People are successfully using it to treat a range of ailments, including pain and inflammation (including chronic pain and arthritis); neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and epilepsy; mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and PTSD; and gastrointestinal difficulties such as Crohn’s disease.

Generally, people report an overall sense of well-being, calm, and clarity. Many equate the feeling associated with a high-quality, full-spectrum, or broad-spectrum CBD product to a “runner’s high.”

There is a very low risk of side effects with CBD, unlike many over-the-counter and prescription medications. However, some people report feeling drowsy, which may actually be a good thing if you’re seeking insomnia relief. Others experience a loss of appetite or gastrointestinal troubles.

Before trying any health supplement, consult with your doctor. Also, make sure you’re buying a high-quality CBD product. Start with a low dose to see how you feel and whether you experience any adverse side effects, and up the dosage gradually if needed. There’s no shame in shopping around either. You may need to try a few products first to find what’s best for you. Just make sure to buy from a reputable company with a Certificate of Analysis to prove their products are tested for quality and content by an objective third-party. And look for full or broad-spectrum CBD oil for the best results.

The human body contains a system called the endocannabinoid system which is responsible for regulating activities such as sleep, appetite, pain, and our immune system responses.

It has been found in research studies that this oil may have the ability to treat chronic pain. One study done on rats using injections and oral treatments found that treating ill rats with these products significantly reduced their pain and muscle spasms.

These issues are normally treated by pharmaceutical drugs which often have unwanted side effects such as nausea or decreased sexual performance. In one study, participants were given a dosage of the oil or a placebo before a public speaking performance.

In the results of the study, users who had taken the dosage performed better as compared to those who had taken the placebo. They reported feeling less anxiety and discomfort.

One possible reason for CBD Oil’s ability to do this is because it can act on Serotonin, a neurotransmitter responsible for regulating mood and social behavior.

Acne is in inflammatory response to the entrapment of oils and other molecules in your skin. The oil’s anti-inflammatory quality makes it a viable option for treating acne. While some users have supported this claim, more evidence is needed to label it is a fact.

There are some known and suspected side effects of using CBD cream and oil, though the side effects are few and minor in nature. It is important to note that not all people experience these side effects and usually only at high dosage levels.

One frequently asked question is whether or not someone will test positive for THC while using hemp derived CBD oil. This is absolutely not the case. You will NOT test positive for THC while using hemp derived CBD oil.

I have been a regular CBD user for the past 3 years. One day, I tried broad spectrum CBD (meaning the THC is removed but all other chemicals from the hemp are preserved) at high dosage. I took 8 softgels containing 30 mg of CBD each over the course of 4 hours. I also had about 100 mg of a broad spectrum tincture. The total of CBD absorbed would be 340 mg. I have to say i was VERY surprised by the effect.

First, I didn’t really feel anything for a good 2 hours. Then, the pills started to kick in. Here’s what happened:

    1. Phase 1: A deep feeling of relaxation for about 90 minutes.
    2. Phase 2: a strong & powerful feeling of euphoria that lasted for about 2 hours. That was intense and enjoyable.
    3. Phase 3: paranoia, yes paranoia, you read well. Since there was no THC involved, I’m suspicious it’s the CBD that provoked this effect. My brain started to zoom in on various concerns that were absolutely not an issue a few hours ago. I was fully aware I was being paranoid but still could not prevent that from happening. It took a good 3 hours to make that paranoia go away.

So I’d say that was definitely a side effect but again, the dosage I took was pretty high. I normally take 2 x 20mg per day and there has never been anything to worry about health wise. I learned my lesson the hard way 🙂

Among common CBD oil benefits, natural pain relief tops the list for many. Evidence suggests that cannabinoids may prove useful in pain modulation by inhibiting neuronal transmission in pain pathways. A 2012 study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine found that CBD significantly suppressed chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain in rodents without causing analgesic tolerance. Researchers suggest that CBD and other nonpsychoactive components of marijuana may represent a novel class of therapeutic agents for the treatment of chronic pain.

According to a 2007 meta-analysis conducted in Canada, the combination of CBD and THC buccal spray was found to be effective in treating neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis, which can be debilitating for 50 to 70 percent of MS patients.

    2. Has Antipsychotic Effects

Research shows that CBD benefits include producing antipsychotic effects. It appears to have a pharmacological profile similar to that of atypical antipsychotic drugs as seen using behavioral and neurochemical techniques in animal studies. Additionally, studies show that CBD prevents human experimental psychosis and is effective in open case reports and clinical trials in patients with schizophrenia, with a remarkable safety profile.

    3. Reduces Anxiety

Studies using animal models of anxiety and involving healthy volunteers clearly suggest an anxiolytic-like effect of CBD. Cannabidiol has shown to reduce anxiety in patients with social anxiety disorder and researchers suggest that it may also be effective for panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

A 2011 study aimed to compare the effects of a simulation public speaking test on healthy control patients and treatment-native patients with social anxiety disorder. A total of 24 never-treated patients with social anxiety disorder were given either CBD or placebo 1.5 hours before the test. Researchers found that pretreatment with CBD significantly reduced anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort in their speech performance, and significantly decreased alertness in anticipation of their speech. The placebo group presented higher anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort.

    4. Helps to Fight Cancer

Several scientific reports demonstrate that CBD benefits include possessing antiproliferative, pro-apoptotic effects that inhibit cancer cell migration, adhesion and invasion. (9) A 2006 study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics found for the first time that CBD potently and selectively inhibited the growth of different breast tumor cell lines and exhibited significantly less potency in non-cancer cells.

In 2011, researchers added light on the cellular mechanism through which CBD induces cell death in breast cancer cells. They showed that CBD induced a concentration-dependent cell death of both oestrogen receptor-positive and oestrogen receptor-negative breast cancer cells. They also found that the effective concentrations of CBD in tumor cells have little effect on non-tumorigenic, mammary cells.

CBD behaves as a non-toxic compound and studies show that doses of 700 milligrams per day for 6 weeks did not show any overt toxicity in humans, suggesting that it can be used for prolonged treatment. Not only does the research show that CBD benefits including being effective in fighting breast cancer cells, data also suggests that it can be used to inhibit the invasion of lung and colon cancer, plus it possesses anti-tumor properties in gliomas and has been used to treat leukemia.

Also, consult your health expert before consuming any CBD product. It is vital to keep your health intact and free of any ailments.

CBD typically goes unnoticed in the consumer as it does not produce a high, and negative side effects from its use are relatively unheard of in proper doses. A 2017 review of 25 studies conducted over the last two decades on the safety and efficiency of CBD did not identify any significant side effects across a wide range of doses, including acute and chronic dose regimens, using various modes of administration.

Because of CBD’s approval throughout Europe, there is comprehensive knowledge on its metabolism, toxicology and safety. The standard dose for CBD is 10 mg. Clinical studies using doses of 1200 mg a day for 30 days resulted in no negative side effects throughout the trial period. At extremely high doses, such as those over 2000 mg (chugging 10 bottles of CBD tinctures, give or take), CBD can cause dizziness, headaches, anxiety, decreased appetite, drowsiness, diarrhea, fever, tachycardia or an increased heart rate, and jitteriness, though even these are rare and will fade away in a few hours if they appear.

A 2019 study by the University of Arkansas for Medical Science was finally able to find the LD50 of CBD, the dose required to kill over 50% of recipients. In testing mice, they found an amount of 2460 mg per kg of weight was the lethal dose through liver failure. For comparison, the equivalent lethal dose for the average human, weighing 62 kg (137 lbs), is about 152,520 mg of CBD. This is roughly equivalent to drinking 9 liters of potent CBD tinctures.
